Today is the last day to get an absentee ballot, or vote in person at City Hall, for the City Council runoff election on Tuesday, October 8th.

To vote absentee in person, go to 3rd Floor of Huntsville City Hall to the Clerk Treasurer’s office.  Park on Fountain Circle or in the municipal deck across the street in downtown Huntsville.

Turnout from the municipal election on August 28th was approximately 13% over 29 voting precincts.   Detailed results can be seen on the City of Huntsville Election Results webpage.

The two candidates running off for the non-partisan City Council District 2 seat are, in alphabetical order:

In the Cove area, City of Huntsville addresses are primarily located within three precincts, including #11 (polling location at Cove United Methodist Church), #12 (Hampton Cove Church of Christ), and #61 (RiverTree Church), totaling over 13,000 registered voters.

The winner of this runoff election will assume Mark Russell‘s seat as he retires after 16 years as our District 2 representative. Thank you, Mr. Russell, for your service!
